Disgorging Guttural Regurgitations... ()

Canadian lo-fi spastic grinding death metal with indecipherable male and guttural female growls. Their frontwoman is also the band's call to fame as Hilary Muff (an obvious spoof of American pop singer/actress Hilary Duff) one of their two singers has truly a venomous set of pipes that make any of her male counterparts pale in comparison. In particular the contrast of mr Nasty's low grunts and her alternating disturbing shrieks is something that sounds incredibly haunting in the classic sense of the word. The material is mostly midpaced with occasional blast sections. Much of the grind influence is derived of the compact nature of the band's material and the fast and loose delivery thereof. The production puts much emphasis on the beefy bass lines and thick riffing, although the guitars tend to be drowned out by the bass. The guitar tone isn't quite as heavy and biting as one would have liked. The drum kit doesn't sound that well either with the snare drums in particular sounding like tin cans in part. Also, of note is that bass drums can clearly be heard, but don't offer much in the sense of additional heaviness. The artwork, design and lay-out is nothing spectacular given the nature of this band. Presented by their label as a full length debut "Disgorging Guttural Regurgitations..." is in fact nothing more than a glorified EP as these 12 tracks are clocking in at little under 20 minutes in total. While it is hardly revolutionary the grinding death metal of Tard is at least fun with its braindead toilet humour in their lyrics. People who like bands as Sikfuk will be able to enjoy this to the fullest.
