    Order Of Ennead ()

Wydane przez Earache RecordsRok wydania Kraj USANapisał Wouter8Komentarze (0)Order Of Ennead - Order Of EnneadOrder Of Ennead is a tightened, streamlined continuation of the underrated Council Of the Fallen with Steve Asheim (Deicide) on drums and Scott Patrick (Resurrection) on bass. Taking their moniker from the Ennead, who according to ancient lore were 9 mythical deities said to have given birth to modern civilization. Vocally, Kevin Quirion (guitars) sounds like Sweden’s Mutant. The epic leads/solos by John Li are of the neo-classical, Malmsteen variety and are reminiscent of Dave Suzuki’s work with Vital Remains. Order Of Ennead blend classic Florida death metal with a distinct European sense of melody and intelligent, introspective lyrics that add greatly to the aura of this recording. Recorded at Audiohammer Studios (Drawn and Quartered, Monstrosity, Trivium) in Sanford, Florida this self-titled debut comes with a brick heavy but clearly defined guitar tone, fantastically audible bass lines and Asheim’s formidable drumming that is now able to work outside his limited Deicide framework. Asheim also provides the closing track ‘Dismantling an Empire’ at the bookends with an compact but thoroughly engaging classical piano piece. The only minor piece of criticism is the slightly disappointing artwork, a feature in which Council Of the Fallen (especially with "Deciphering the Soul") holds the upperhand. While Earache Records is hardly a death metal label these days, it are those bands (Akercocke, Blood Red Throne, Deicide, Order Of Ennead and Severe Torture) who are the highlights of their current retro - and neo-thrash infested roster. With the correct amount of promotion and a fitting touring cycle Order Of Ennead should be able to establish itself as a force to be reckoned with.
