The Order Of the False Eye ()

Wydane przez Napalm RecordsRok wydania Kraj USANapisał Wouter8Komentarze (0)Gigan - The Order Of the False EyeRising to prominence thanks to the prior resumé of its founding duo Gigan churn forth an impressive maelstrom of abstract sounding otherworldly technical death metal that is both brutal and spaced out. Consisting of Brian Hersemann (ex-Diabolic) and Randy Piro (ex-Hate Eternal) this act's technical prowess is nothing short of amazing and jaw-dropping. Filled to the brim with strange effects, colliding riffs, exotic bass lines and free-form drumming of the relatively unknown Danny Ryan, Gigan has a sound that they can truly call their own, although it can be noted that Atheist's vintage classic "Unquestionable Presence" must have had an undeniable impact upon its creators. This becomes especially clear in a cut like ‘Still Image Symphony' or ‘Chrystalis'. The use of abstract soundscapes and effects also make this sound a bit similar to Cynic's fusion-technical death metal opus "Focus". More conventional tracks such as ‘Imprisoned Within Duality' and ‘Interstellar Inversion Of Consciousness' on the other hand show both members past in acts Diabolic and Hate Eternal. Randy Piro's vocals have grown exponentially since his time in Hate Eternal. He shouts, grunts and rasps his way through out most of the material and this approach fits well with Gigan's music. ‘Hiding Behind the House Of Mirrors' starts off with some slight electronica and abstract effects before a salvo of well-placed tribal drumming initiates the track. With a great, meaty production and sci-fi artwork to boot "The Order Of the False Eye" is nothing short of an impressive debut for a band with a great future ahead of themselves.
