    The Great American Scapegoat ()

Wydane przez Moribund RecordsRok wydania Kraj USANapisał Wouter8Komentarze (0)Satan's Host - The Great American ScapegoatSatan's Host was a side project of the Jag Panzer vocalist Harry "Tyrant" Conklin. He sang on the only official album called "Metal from Hell" as well as on the never released second album. The band broke up in 1987/88 after Harry left to join Titan Force. Since reforming in 2000 with a new line-up Satan's Host has released 3 albums, of which 2 were released through Moribund Records. Given the band's history it comes as no surprise that "The Great American Scapegoat" is filled with epic sounding heavy black metal that put much emphasis on atmosphere as it does on instrumentation. The material is carefully written and structured with much attention to detail. As a result, the album flows quite naturally and nothing ever feels forced or out of place. With a sweltering, swarming production courtesy of Flatline Audio (Cephalic Carnage, Cobalt) Satan's Host's ripping and epic hymns are presented in all their glory. Satan's Host excel in writing engaging material that brings together the strengths of technically proficient, fist-pounding heavy metal such as Iron Maiden, Saxon or Judas Priest with the haunting and desolate nature of Scandinavian black metal. Coming with breathtaking artwork by the always reliable Joe Petagno (Diabolic, Krisiun, etc) "The Great American Scapegoat" is resounding statement of black metal done by passionate and skilled artists.
