On the third generation of Roadrunner's trademark "Best Of" series we have Obituary and Suffocation - both in their classic line-ups - as most prominent players. Capitalising on the success of Obituary's recent offering "Xecutioner's Return" Roadrunner Records has now released two "best of" albums of their classic artists. On their second "best of" release for Obituary - the first being 2001's "Anthology" - there are 3 tracks of "Slowly We Rot", 3 tracks of "Cause Of Death", 2 tracks of "The End Complete", 2 tracks of "World Demise" and finally 1 track of both "Back From the Dead" and "Frozen In Time". The tracklist and song choice is obvious but representative for the band and the label seen in the context of release. All tracks are album tracks and there's nothing remotely unreleased or previously unavailable to be found here. The artwork is basic but quite typical (and fairly unspectacular) for the series. If you are new to Obituary's older material, this is an ideal place to start from. Long time fans, however, will find absolutely nothing of interest here.
