Mental Prolapse Induces Necrophilism ()

The Italian death metal scene is blossoming it seems. After Exsecrator, Hour Of Penance, Mutilated Soul and Necrotorture, Putridity is the following band to bombarded to next big thing from Italy. Christ Denied, Devourment, (early) Disgorge (both US and Mexico) and Enmity seem to be the band's primary influences as "Mental Prolapse Induces Necrophilism" is a near constant barrage to guttural vocals (which is where the comparison with Spain's Christ Denied comes in), gripping semi-technical riffs, slam sections and mid-tempo breaks. As expected some obscure samples are to be found through out this record, abiding to the unwritten rule that every underground death metal album should sample some unknown horror flicks. These samples add little extra to the recording and fulfil no purpose whatsoever. The album is a high quality home recorded affair that was mixed at Dissonant Studios by Luca Mimeri, mastering was done at Massive Arts Studios, Milan. In sound, direction and feel this feels much like Christ Denied on their "Got What He Deserved" debut, although this record is much better in final mixing. Artwork by Jon Zig is a bit typical but fits rather perfect with Putridity's demented style while the design and lay-out by Joel Sta (Neurotic Records) give the whole a professional look and feel.
