A veritable death metal super group of Dutch scene monuments, similar to acts as Bloodbath or Death Breath. Bringing together Thanatos mainmen Stephan Gebedi and Paul Baayens, Gorefest drummer Ed Warby, Houwitser bassist Theo van Eekelen and former Pestilence/Asphyx vocalist Martin van Drunen Hail Of Bullets is bringing back classic European death metal. The 4 tracks of this impressive promo present the best of the bands collective strengths. From the thrashing riffing, the tasteful drumming to the ever recognizable rasping death grunts of van Drunen. Lyrically, Hail Of Bullets deal with the topic of war and tracks such as 'Red Wolves of Stalin', 'Ordered Eastward' or 'Advancing Once More' form a nice perspective on the historical events that inspired the tracks. All four tracks are dirgey, doom fused death metal that holds enough variation to appeal to both old - and new school genre fans. The band's mainly midtempo approach will site comfortably with Autopsy, Bolt Thrower, Incantation, Massacre and Obituary fanatics. Recorded at Excess Studio, Rotterdam and mixed by Dan Swano at Unisound Studio, Sweden "Promo 2007" comes with a crystal clear pristine sounding production that retains the organic warmth, earthy tones and visceral bludgeoning a band like this needs. Recently, the band was picked up by Metal Blade Records and they should have a debut out somewhere in 2008.
