    Paradise Lost ()

Wydane przez InsideOut Music/SPVRok wydania Kraj USANapisał Wouter8Komentarze (0)Symphony X - Paradise LostThe new album "Paradise Lost" by US neo-classical progressive metallers Symphony X is based upon the epic poem of the same name by the 17th-century English poet John Milton and concerns the Judeo-Christian story of the Fall of Man: the temptation of Adam and Eve by Satan and their expulsion from the Garden of Eden. Generally, this album is a much darker affair compared to the band's previous 2002 record "The Odyssey". Vocalist Russell Allen really goes all out on this record, using his edgier growl alongside his patented clean vocals. "Paradise Lost" is a lot heavier than what the band has done previously, as always a number of ballads are to be found as well. Main composer Michael Romero has once again outdone himself. The keyboards of Michael Pinella feature less prominently, but as always the tracks are crafted with immense eye to detail and thus they are not immediately catchy. Upon multiple listens "Paradise Lost" reveals its elaborate structure, awe-inspiring instrumental strengths and high replayability factor. Generally "Paradise Lost" is much faster than the band's previous material, while the recognizable choruses stay intact – they also include Gregorian chants this time. It appears that the five years hiatus this band was forced to go through to deliver this record has done them good. "Paradise Lost" sees Symphony X on the top of their game and neo-classical and progressive metal fans have no valid excuse to not pick up this album.
