Florida death metal by way of Norway is what Blood Red Throne presents on its fourth album, being their second for Earache Records. "Come Death" is the first album featuring new vocalist Osvald Egeland and new drummer Anders Faret Haave and while its not a radical departure from the band's earlier records it's a far more groovier and organic affair. The disc is notably bass oriented thus immediately showcasing the immense skills of Erlend Carpersen (Deeds Of Flesh, Vile) while never pulling Tchort's crunchy riffs out of the picture. Frontman Osvald Egeland has a nice set of pipes and is very similar to Cannibal Corpse vocalist George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher in tone, range and delivery. The album pulls influences from all over, notably the Swedish riffing and rhythms in 'Rebirth in Blood'. 'Guttural Screams' reminds of a Swedish interpretation of what Cannibal Corpse was doing on "Bloodthirst". 'Taste Of God' is the fastest cut the band have written to date, possibly proving why Carpersen was hired by Deeds Of Flesh. 'No New Beginning' is vintage Blood Red Throne. Also included is a cover of Gorguts' 'Disincarnated' from their classic 1990 debut "Considered Dead". "Come Death" is a more controlled and generally slower record. The album was recorded at Dub Studios in Norway and this provides the disc with a high quality production job that is clean without compromising in heaviness yet remains organic and warm sounding at all times. Where the previous albums by Blood Red Throne sounded at bit too triggered and sterile, this album rectifies that problem by far. Artwork and design is top notch. Like the album preceding this one the blood themes of the earlier works are seemingly completely abandoned.
