    Bleed the Fifth ()

Wydane przez Century Media/Roadrunner RecordsRok wydania Kraj USANapisał Wouter8Komentarze (0)Divine Heresy - Bleed the FifthBringing together two relatively big names in two very different genres Divine Heresy is probably the most hyped band of recent times. "Bleed the Fifth" – the band's debut for Century Media and Roadrunner Records – combines the particular strengths of its core duo, founder Dino Cazares (ex-Fear Factory, Brujeria) and extreme metal drummer extra ordinaire Tim Yeung (ex-Hate Eternal, ex-Vital Remains). Cazares' patented staccato riffings are abound and Yeung's relentless mastery of the drum kit result in a modern – and death metal crossover that actually reminds a lot of the underrated debut of Cazares' previous band in sheer metallic onslaught. Helming the mic is vocalist Tommy Vext, who's aggressively barked hardcore vocals in fact remind of veteran acts such as Born From Pain or Hatebreed. His more emotive, clean sung parts remind of Fear Factory's own Burton C. Bell (who somewhat set a standard for the genre) or Trivium's Matt Heafy. After the first two tracks Divine Heresy kick into gear with ‘The Threat Is Real' and ‘Impossible Is Nothing' which are filled to the brim with Dino's characteristic computerized, almost militant rhythms and tasteful electronics, somewhat reminiscent of what his previous band was doing with "Obsolete" and partly "Digimortal". A stellar guitar lead is to be found as well, which is a first for Cazares as his repertoire with Fear Factory didn't have that. "Bleed the Fifth" is a strong record for a band as young as this, but the experience of its members has led to a collaborative effort that unites the best of its members. The resulting album is a modern semi-industrial metal record that will have fans of both Fear Factory and Yeung fanatics wondering what could have happened if this album had been released under the Fear Factory name. This should have been the record to follow-up the critically panned "Digimortal". With "Transgression" dividing Fear Factory's fanbase (once again), Divine Heresy launches their debut at the right time.
