    Happy Hour ()

Wydane przez Shiver RecordsRok wydania Kraj BelgiumNapisał Wouter8Komentarze (0)Suhrim - Happy HourOn their third record (and second for Shiver Records) Belgian old school death metallers Suhrim are finally living up to the potential they've always had. Sounding somewhat like early Aborted (circa "Created to Kill" split with Misery Index, Brodequin, etc) or "False" era Gorefest (without the topical socio-political lyrics) and boasting a high quality production courtesy of Hertz Studios, Poland the band are bound to make waves in the European scene. The addition of three new members has revived the band seemingly, now truly delivering some exceptional work in the guitar and drum department. Especially drummer Kevin Deleener deserves a mention as his work is truly the best part of "Happy Hour", just listen to 'Bonesaw' for examples of that. Almost every track on this record either starts or ends with a sample, which is a gimmick that is becoming tiresome in this genre. While some are just hilarious, like 'Bonesaw' that starts with a sample of "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" and ends with a sample of "Kids" others are just tiring and tired. 'Vengeance Shall Be Mine' sounds like classic Six Feet Under on steroids and the groove this track and the others contain just makes this record flow. While the lyrics are still not anything to write home about, the band makes up for it with improved technical skills and violent songwriting. The production is everything we have come to expect from Hertz Studios and this is beneficiary for a groove death metal band like Suhrim who need a high quality sound to in order to hit their mark. This is possibly Suhrim's best and most professional record to date. "Happy Hour" is bound to finally install Suhrim into the European scene as rightful competitors for the groove death metal throne. Hands down the best they have ever done in their long and eventful career.
