    Neutrality For Defined Chaos ()

Similar to old school genre luminaries Death, Cynic, Atheist and Watchtower this unit has specialized itself in forward thinking, technical death metal laced with influences from classic Scandinavian black metal. All tracks feature an arsenal of fragmented, sweeping riffing similar to Sweden's technical monarchs Theory In Practice including the extended solo sections. There isn't really a bad track on this record, although Quinta Essentia would benefit from streamlining their sound a little more, as often in the extended solo – or mid-tempo sections the material is a bit tedious and would benefit from some cutting. With 5 tracks and 3 interludes the record loses pace considerably and this should be avoided at all costs. The production is more than respectable, taking in account the kind of budget they had to work with, and is quite reminiscent of Pessimist's "Cult Of the Initiated". The artwork, design and lay-out are lushly designed and appear very magickal inspired, although the cover art could have been a little less chaotic. With only a handful of progressive underground death metal bands around, this band are among its more promising practitioners. Quinta Essentia shows a lot of potential and given that they work on their minor flaws, they should be able to grow exponentially in the nearby future. Be sure to give this a listen.
