Coming to us from Holland is Caedere, whom in 2003 released their interesting debut "Mass Emission" on Goregiastic Records. Now, they present 3 cuts of groovy, NY styled death metal with sufficient technical backbone to generate label interest for their second full length. The band - who is clearly inspired by the likes of Disavowed, Suffocation and latter day Dying Fetus - wastes no time in getting to the point. Mixing US death metal with the catchiness of old school Swedish death metal, the band has found an ideal way to combine the strengths of both scenes. ‘Need For Greed', ‘Clones Of Industry' and ‘Scorn' display a band with all the technical know-how, songwriting prowess and means to swiftly rise in the ranks of the international scene, if given the necessary backing and support. The production is outstanding with a highly detailed drum sound, the guitar tone is brick heavy, nicely textured and clear. The bass lies solid in the mix and provides a functional backdrop. Vocals are undecipherable at best, yet the exciting interplay between both vocalists deserves a mention. Delivering roughly 15 minutes of expertly written, technically proficient and tightly executed death metal with dual vocals; Caedere is another fine addition to the scene of a country that has a long tradition of delivering quality underground death metal products and bands. It's about time a good label offers these guys a respectable record deal.
