Slovakia's Morbidium present NY styled death metal heavily inspired by the likes of early Suffocation, "Intrauterine Cannibalism" era Malignancy and "The Seeds Of Abysmal Torment" era Fleshgrind on their second release to date. The successor to "Decayed Remains Taken From Butcher's Morgue" is counting only 2 tracks, therefore this EP is a bit on the short side but the track themselves (while performed a bit too safe and unadventurous) make up for that. Both tracks are loaded to the top with gripping semi-technical riffs, mid-tempo breaks, adequate and fitting drumming and absolutely vomit-inducing, disgusting pig-style low grunts. The production work is fairly good, given that this is just a promo. However, the snare drum is put too upfront in the mix and generally sounds like a tin can. Due to the heavy fixation on the snare, the bass drums and cymbals are pushed too far to the background and their effect is panned as a result. The artwork is pretty good, and demented in the good old school sense. "Frailty In Human Endurance" is a solid release for a band with local aspirations, but for the international metal market this EP is just too insignificant and common in concept and execution. If Morbidium wants to break out of the local scene, they'll have to put their individual spin on the genre they're pursuing with a concept that is truly their own - instead of blandly copying their inspirations.
