Just like their peers in Obituary, Vader and Bolt Thrower compromise is a word not to be found in Incantation’s vocabulary. Despite numerous line-up shuffles, label deals gone sour and a lengthy touring history, the trio consisting of John McEntee (vocals/guitars), Joe Lombard (bass) and Kyle Severn (drums) seem have gotten an energy boost with their Listenable deal. 2 years after their formidable “Decimate Christendom” Incantation now churn forth another 9 slabs of oppressively heavy doom-fused US death metal like only they can produce. Rugged death riffs, fierce demonic growls, rolling drumming and unearthly pulsating deep bass lines are omnipresent through out “Primordial Domination”. The initial reverb/feedback swathed intro of the opening title track to the funeral atmosphere of ‘Dissolute Rule/Begin Apocalypse’ or the truly epic sounding ‘The Stench Of Crucifixion’ Incantation proof, like all good wine, to only get better with age. In comparison to “Decimate Christendom” the record has a notably smoother production job courtesy of resident producer Bill Korecky and this provides the record with all the punch and oomph it needs to make a considerable impact. Artwork and lay-out by Polish grandmaster Jacek Wisniewski (Vader, Grave, Krisiun) completes the package in high fashion. Limited edition comes with a DVD including a full live set.
