On "Kill" we get another 13 cuts of defiantly technical yet highly unsurprising hammering death metal. Cannibal Corpse doesn't deviate one inch from their well-known formula (we wouldn't want it any other way) and "Kill" is no exception to the rule. The album starts off with an impressive 8 second scream by George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher and the first 4 tracks are amongst the most brutal the band has written up to date. 'The Time To Kill Is Now', 'Make Them Suffer', 'Murder Worship' and 'Necrosadistic Warning' pulverize anything in sight and will no doubt become instant live classics in the process. Concluding the album is 'Infinite Misery', another instrumental piece. The track is preceded by 'Barbaric Bludgeonings' written by returning Rob Barrett (ex-Malevolent Creation, last on '96 record "Vile") who replaces the departed Jack Owen (currently in Deicide). The remainder of "Kill" was written by bassist Alex Webster and guitarist Pat O'Brien, one track was also written by drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz. Recorded at Mana Studios by Erik Rutan (ex-Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal) the production leaves nothing to be desired. Once again Cannibal Corpse has churned out a scaring consistent death metal album as only they can that consolidates their pole position as one of the genre's most uncompromising leaders.
