Hailing from Thailand Surrender Of Divinity bring an offering that will appeal to fans of early Dark Funeral, Gorgoroth, Marduk and Enthroned. "Manifest Blasphemy" presents 7 cuts of oppressing hellish primitive black metal. All tracks are lengthy exercises that combine the best of classic and current black metal. 'Consecration Of the Heathen Messiah' intertwines light-speed Scandinavian tinged dense riffing with a relentless battery assault. Picking out a stand-out track is no easy task, as all tracks are of equal high quality. All tracks are extensively written pieces that contain various conflicting atmospheres and multiple tempo-changes. The black-white artwork by Eric Neyra reminds a lot of French cult artist Chris "Thorncross" Moyen in concept and content. Production is surprisingly clear for this usually underproduced genre, the guitar sound is a bit too thin but effective, the bass lines are audible and the drum sound is too upfront in the mix, drowning out the rest in the process. Think of the production work of Dark Funeral or Marduk's earliest recordings and you're pretty much there. Being only a trio Surrender Of Divinity manage to sound surprisingly massive. I'm pretty sure that black metal purists will find a lot to like on this record.
