With ex-members of Bolt Thrower/Benediction, Sacrificial and Iniquity in their ranks Denmark's Downlord will simultaneously appeal to fans of old as well as new school death metal. This demo, the band's second recording therefore aptly named "Demo II", presents 3 blistering cuts of technically proficient, convincingly executed brutal death metal. Combining the intricate guitar work of Iniquity, the faster outburst of Sacrificial with the classic Bolt Thrower/Benediction groove and recognizable vocals of Dave Ingram. Session drummer Reno Killerich (whose track record includes work for Vile, Panzerchrist, Dimmu Borgir, etc) is controlled behind the drum kit, throwing in enough fills besides his impressive signature blast sections. 'Loathe Scorn Detest', 'Groin Of God' and 'Hate Brace' show a band with enough technical chops and songwriting ability that should be able to unite old and new generations of death metal. Downlord should be able to land a respectable record deal in the near future. Fans of old school death metal will like this for sure. Check it out now.
