Since 1994 Belgian traditional black metal combo Enthroned has consistently been releasing quality albums under a host of different labels. To celebrate their 10th anniversary Enthroned now release "Black Goat Ritual" - a career-spanning live registration. The recorded set is taken from their 2004 South American tour, in Porto Alegre (Brazil). "Black Goat Ritual" is blessed with a clean, loud production with Sabathan's vocals mixed to the forefront. The album features 2 tracks from "Prophecies Of Pagan Fire", 4 tracks from "Towards the Skullthrone Of Satan", 1 track from the "Regie Sathanas" EP, 1 track from "The Apocalypse Manifesto", 4 tracks from "Carnage In Worlds Beyond" and 2 tracks from "XES Haereticum". Indeed, "Armoured Bestial Hell" isn't featured in the live set, as the band generally loathes that particular album. Enthroned deliver a tight set and storm through the tracks relentlessly. Sabathan isn't the most talkative frontman and thus doesn't waste any time on useless filler talk in between the tracks. Featured exclusively on this live album is the new studio track 'Eternal Misery'. This track is a bit slower than that we're used from Enthroned, but nevertheless fits perfectly into their repertoire. The booklet is filled with lots of live pictures and a complete list of the tour dates the band did in 2004. All things considered "Black Goat Ritual" is highly recommended to those who never saw this band live.
