Many of you should know Forest of Impaled from their demo released in our wonderful country by Vox Mortis. They played black metal back then, supposedly similar to the noise of Emperor. This time they're closer to the latest sounds served by Behemoth. It's still black metal, but with great influences of death metal. And immediately, because of that, the points automatically go up to 5. Good sound, clear and strong. Additional point. Forest of Impaled already have a 6-point review. We're going further, catchiness... a thing absent in black metal. A tune as 'Wings of Apocalypse' is almost a hit; another point. We've got 7 now. The vocals are not limited to screeches. The guy tries to vary its sound, sometimes better, sometimes worse, but a point for effort. And at the end, the question of keyboards. They're present, but seldom. What's weird is that they fit. They don't create a pseudo pathetic mood as in crappy horror movies. It'll be 8 points. A band playing black metal receiving so many points from me.... must not be bad.
