The first instrumental tune sounds like something from the Gothenburg style. Unfortunately after checking, wetting, and licking the album, none of the operations yielded the expected results. The second song, played fast and brutal, gave me the chance for survival. As in the old times, growls, fast, double base, carnage. Not for long though, because then I started to hear some cheesy melodies. Next one also started fast and rhythmically just to turn into a soft melodic death metal. I decided to give up and I turned it off. Had I decided to stop writing then the note would not go over 5. I went back to it after a while. I think I've realized what Dave Rotten had in mind. They're not playing the extremely brutal and chaotic style any more. Their music is now composed, has a lot of melodies, and sometimes reminds of the before mentioned Gothenburg style. Sometimes they still manage to kick it'but it's a totally different band now. I don't regard 'Stabwound'' as a bad album, because it contains a lot of interesting ideas and it sounds good, but not with this name. I've always associated Avulsed with something extreme, and here they release and album full of mid-tempos, nice solos, etc. Cool release, but not as brutal as before. It all depends on the mood I'm in, and I don't think I can objectively grade this one. What I like is the way 'Stabwound'? was released. Two naked chicks on the cover using a knife in a very interesting way. Very realistic picture that on many occasions has led me to an uncontrollable orgasm, he, he, he.
