After a two year break and a slew of musicians later metalcore act Diecast returns with "Tearing Down Your Blue Skies". The band's super heavy style of east-coast metallic hardcore remains intact and solid as ever. Abrasive and sung vocals merge with unrelenting salvo's of staccato riffs, huge breakdowns and precise chunky drumming with odd times and off-kilter beats. The result is an impressive, dizzying exhibition of heavy technicality. Calling them a hardcore version of Meshuggah wouldn't be far from the truth. "Tearing Down Your Blue Skies" really starts to sink in after a few listens, as the tracks only then start to show their power. Picking out stand out tracks proves to be a hard task, since all of them are top notch in their own respect. Tracks worthy of your attention, however, are: 'Seize the Day', 'Rise and Oppose' and 'Traitor' While the band is not yet on the same level as Caliban, Shadows Fall, Chimaera or Killswitch Engage, this is a band to keep an eye on.
