Brazilian crusty death/grind act Siege Of Hate proclaim themselves as a fist in the face of all commercial punk acts. While there's hardly any punk to be found in here, the band does share the genre's outspoken political standpoints. With Brutal Truth, early Napalm Death, Dead Horse and Terrorizer as most important influences Siege Of Hate will appeal to most fans of the above mentioned acts. With titles as 'Nightmares Of War', 'Obscene Truth', 'Forthcoming Holocaust' or 'Self-defense Contradictions' one doesn't need to expect any gore topics here. After Sepultura lost the throne as Brazilian most commonly known export product, country mates as Krisiun, Nephasth and Horned God are in turn taking advantage of this fact. With Siege Of Hate another strong combo can be added to this ever-expanding list. 'Fake' is one of the more crusty songs on this 20 track album reminding quite a lot of Nailbomb's 'Blind and Lost' with its moshing groove. 'Downfall' opens with a drum intro which could have been lifted straight out of Terrorizer's genre defining "World Downfall" album and this track from an excellent example of the said band's profound influence on the genre. This album should appeal to any fan of the crust, grindcore or death metal genre. Highly recommended.
