Polish Hate have been around since '90, releasing 3 demo's and two full albums. With "Awakening Of the Liar" - the band's third outing - they have forged a solid piece of ferocious semi-technical US death metal. Influences are most obviously taken from early classics such as Deicide and Morbid Angel while injecting a dose of adrenaline pumping speed for good measure. From the current scene mammoths Hate is the most American sounding. With Vader remaining vastly rooted in the über European sound, whereas Decapitated and Yattering go for a more daring approach, Hate will appeal to most fans of the current US death metal scene. The title track (obviously) houses the most potential with its headbang inducing structure, groove and leadwork. I was quite surprised to find out that this record is just too short for its own good. With most tracks clocking just above two minutes they pass by just too quick
