    Kingdom Of the Dead (cd)

Due to government banning their albums "Death Is All I See" and "Kingdom Of the Dead" have become extremely hard to find. Now Displeased Records/From Beyond Productions have compiled both albums on one disc and given it a proper worldwide release again. Bazzah`s style can be described as traditional raw black metal in vein of Von, Beherit and Blasphemy. No melodies, no keyboards, just straightforward raw black metal. The production is minimal but effective. The snare drum sounds too mechanical and hollow, whereas the guitars are thin but sharp reminding of the earlier Scandinavian black metal. "Kingdom Of the Dead" draws a few parallels with Mayhem`s "Wolf Lair Abyss" on a compositional and production level, with some sped up traditional metal solo`s thrown in to avoid monotony. Bazzah`s first album "Death Is All I See" has a remarkably better drum sound. The tracks on this record are longer than on the band`s second outing and are more varied on a compositional level as well. A semi-grunt is also to be regularly found on this record to alternate with the piercing lead shrieks, giving this record a death metal backdrop. Artwork by Ereshkigal (Thornspawn, Impiety, Surrender Of Divinity) conforms to genre aesthetics and provides a beautiful lay-out. Fans of traditional black metal can`t go wrong with this disc.
