Thanatos - new album detailed
Data dodania 2009-02-08Dodał WouterŹródło blabbermouth.netDutch death/thrash metal pioneers THANATOS will release their fifth full-length album, "Justified Genocide", on March 15 through Deity Down Records (except in the U.K. and Ireland, where it will arrive on April 6). The CD was recorded at Excess studios in Rotterdam, Netherlands and was mixed by Dan Swanö (NIGHTINGALE, EDGE OF SANITY and BLOODBATH fame) at Unisound in Sweden.
Commented the band: "It's pretty safe to say that this album will have the rawest, most dirty and 'in-your-face' sound we ever managed to achieve on a THANATOS record. It features some of the fastest, most aggressive shit we ever recorded, but, of course, we also have some slower, heavier parts. The emphasis definitely lies on thrash metal, but as always there's also some death metal in our songs."

In 2009 THANATOS is celebrating its 25th anniversary since the band first emerged from the Netherworlds.
Currently the quartet is comprised of founding member Stephan Gebédi (guitar/vocals; also guitarist in HAIL OF BULLETS), Paul Baayens (guitar; HAIL OF BULLETS, ASPHYX), Marco de Bruin (bass) and Yuri Rinkel (drums; MELECHESH).
THANATOS in 2006 suspended the recording sessions for "Justified Genocide" at Excess studios in Rotterdam, Holland after the group's record label at the time, Greece's Black Lotus Records, announced that it was closing its doors.
THANATOS' fourth CD, "Undead. Unholy. Divine" (2004), was produced by Hans Pieters and the band at Excess and was mastered by Attie Bauw (JUDAS PRIEST, SCORPIONS, GOREFEST).
