Primordial - to tour North America

For the fans who have been eagerly counting down the days for the return of this run, PaganFest USA proudly brings you PART 2 of this incredible saga with the presentation of Ireland’s PRIMORDIAL, Switzerland’s ELUVEITIE, Finland’s MOONSORROW, and Canada’s BLACKGUARD (formerly known as Profugus Mortis) to the horizon for mid 2009!
The first date of this unique trek has been exclusively revealed on the PaganFest USA MySpace (www.myspace.com/paganfestusa) as May 7, 2009 at Chicago’s Powerfest! Details and ticket purchase links for PaganFest USA: PART 2 will be updated on the official MySpace page as they come in so please keep checking back often!
Nemtheanga, the front man for PRIMORDIAL, is incredibly excited about making it over to the US for a full tour:
"Finally the planets align and the Gods ordain it so. Primordial will tour America in April/May of 2009 as part of the Paganfest with old friends Moonsorrow and new brothers and sisters in arms Eluveitie. It has taken us 6 albums and nearly 20 years of existence to finally be able to play more than one show in America and we are ready for the fight. We performed as part of the first Heathen Crusade back in 2005 in Minnesota as a one off and met many great people and it still sticks out in our memory as a high point in the bands career. We are under no illusions and know that the distances are long, the days grueling and the showers non-existent, but we are ready to make more memories on Vinland’s soil in 2009.
Pagan/folk metal is undeniably on the crest of a wave at the moment and although we are part of it we do feel at odds with much of it. Primordial is older and comes from a different generation; we are elder statesmen if you will. We are the dark underbelly of it all, the grim reality amidst the romance and fantasy. However touring requires light and shade and although for some no doubt we will be a bitter pill to swallow, it is important culturally and historically for us get out there, play to new people and challenge them with something different and real.
