The much anticipated new album is set for a July 17th 2006 release and the group, led by singer, songwriter and producer Devin Townsend, have redefined their sound, creating what is soon to be the definitive offering of their already stellar career. SYL recently shot a new video for the track “Wrong Side” with renowned director David Brodsky (God Forbid, The Red Chord). Look for the clip to make its debut late next month.
Past weekend the European tour started with the Rock Im Park / Rock Am Ring (Metallica, Tool, Lacuna Coil, etc.) festivals. Next is UK’s high profile Donington’s Download, Bologna’s Flame Fest, Sweden’s finest Hultsfred Festival and Finland’s Provinssirock started. The exclusive support band for the club shows is MAROON who just released their highly acclaimed Century Media debut “When Worlds Collide” on March 17th 2006. So don't miss this killer package.
The album’s U.S. touring campaign kicks off when SYL hits the second stage at Ozzfest, alongside such acclaimed acts as Atreyu, Bleeding Through and Unearth, among others.
On June 12th Century Media Records will also re-release STRAPPING YOUNG LAD’s 1995 debut album, “Heavy As A Really Heavy Thing”, which changed the metal world forever. The re-issue features a re-mastered version of this classic debut, 4 bonus tracks, the “S.Y.L.” video and a 12-page booklet with extended liner notes from Devin himself.
