Data dodania 2006-04-05Dodał WouterEmperor, one of Norway's most influential black metal bands, has announced that its farewell shows at Oslo's Inferno Festival [April 14th] and New York's B.B. King's Blues Club [July 13th and 14th] have been officially sold out. Tickets for the two remaining shows, at West Hollywood's Key Club and House Of Blues [July 16th and 17th respectively] are still available, but going at a rapid pace. The band will also be performing one final gig at Germany's annual Wacken Open Air festival on August 5th, before calling it quits for good. The band announced their break-up shortly after the 2001 release of "Prometheus: The Discipline Of Fire & Demise", but decided to perform a slate of farewell shows for the benefit of their fans.
In related news, the new solo project from former frontman Vegard 'Ihsahn' Tveitan, titled "The Adversary", will be released through Candlelight Records on April 18th. The album features guest contributions from drummer Asgeir Mickelson (Borknagar, Spiral Architect, Vintersorg, etc.) and vocals from Christopher 'Garm' Rygg (Ulver, etc.)
"Disintegrate", the third album from ex-Emperor guitarist Tomas 'Samoth' Haugen's current band Zyklon will be out on May 16th, also through Candlelight. The band will perform (alongside Emperor and US labelmates Keep of Kalessin, Myrkskog, Susperia, Khold, The Deviant, Manngard, Witchcraft, and Marduk) at Inferno Festival and will soon begin work on the album's first planned video.
