Data dodania 2006-02-16Dodał WouterJune 6, 2006 [06/06/06] is the newly announced release date for "The Stench of Redemption", the eighth full-length studio album from Deicide, one of Florida's longest-running death metal bands. "The Stench of Redemption" is the band's second record to be released on Earache Records, and the follow-up to 2004's "Scars of the Crucifix". Deicide signed with Earache in 2003 after having released six albums, a demo collection and a live album on Roadrunner Records.

Deicide is entering its twentieth year of existence, though only its second full year without long-time guitarists Brian and Eric Hoffman. The Hoffman brothers left the band in 2004, and were ultimately replaced by former Cannibal Corpse guitarist Jack Owen and Ralph Santolla who had been a member of Death and Iced Earth. The band has had a long history of generating an odious response amongst the religious community in their home state, including an open condemnation by televangelist Bob Larson. Outspoken frontman Glen Benton hopes to generate further controversy with the new album, quipping, "this record will have you shitting your pants and denouncing the faith like the days of old!"

The band is currently wrapping up its South American tour, the itinerary of which was slightly adjusted. The new slate of dates can be seen on the band's MySpace page, myspace.com/thestenchofredemption
