Data dodania 2005-07-05Dodał WouterLord Ahriman, guitarist for Swedish traditional black metallers Dark Funeral, has posted the following messages in the Forum of the band's official website:

From July 3rd: "This is NOT a full studio report. I just wanted to stop by and give you a short update. As soon as I have a few more minutes free I'll write down a more informative report, ok. Anyway, we're finally done recording the guitars. Next week it's time to begin recording the bass and vocals. We've found a killer bassist that's gonna help us out recording the bass on this album. I'll announce his name in the full studio report. As you may have figured, and even though we've been working +15h a day, we're delayed as fuck, but when you get to hear the album you will understand why it's taken quite some to complete it. It's perfection to the fullest!

From July 5th: "Back home from the studio again. During the last 2 weeks Chaq Mol and I have been laying down our guitar tracks. After trying out several different amps, we ended up using my very own Mesa Boogie "dual rectifire". The guitar sound kills!

On Tuesday (July 6) we'll begin laying down the bass and vocals. Since our new songs require something extra from the bass, we decided to bring in a a highly skilled and professional guest player to record it. And I'm proud to say that it'll be no other then Gustaf Hielm (ex-MESHUGGAH).

I'd also like to point out that what we have created here is NOT "Diabolis Interium - Part 2". Personally I think that that album, and the style it displays, turned out as good as we (or anyone else for that sake) could ever make it. So it has obviously not been any point for us to try and overcome ourselves in that particular vein.

Before we begin working on this album I guess we all felt it was time to do something new (without loosing our roots of course). This is also one of the reason why we decided to change studio and producer. Peter Tagtgren is still our friend and he still rules. We just felt it was time to move on, you know... I can however assure you, that what I promised myself 12+ years ago (when the band was founded), I said 'I refuse to let Dark Funeral become one of those bands that after a few albums become old and begin to play slower and uninspired metal.' And at the same time I told the others, we should do the opposite. And go faster and faster for each album. Well, when you get to hear the new shit, you will see what I mean. I/we have definitely kept true to ourselves!"
