Data dodania 2005-01-09Dodał WouterAfter five years of total inactivity of the legendary Spanish Doom Metal band Golgotha, guitarist and founder Vicente J. has decided to revive the band for which already it takes working during the last months in the composition of new songs for their third album.
Vicente recently issued a press statement regarding the re-forming of Golgotha:
"At the beginning of the 2000, due to differences between the band´s members, Golgotha dissolved and since then all we have followed separated ways. Due to personal reasons, I have not been able to dedicate to music, but in the last year my personal situation has changed, which allows to return and dedicate to which I like more. Of course Golgotha is my priority, so I started up alone composing new songs, in my house, and contacting with possible session musicians who will help me in the recording of the next album, which I have predicted for the first months of the 2005".
"At the moment, I take 8 new songs, that along with a cover of EMERSON LAKE & PALMER and a new version of "Lake Of Memories" (the first song that I composed in the band 10 years ago, and therefore is very special), will be the return of GOLGOTHA. The new songs follow a very characteristic style of the first works, but with a heavier and dark sound. In my opinion the actual Doom Metal is no longer what was, today mixes with Gothic influences, female voices and too many orchestral arrangements, so I want to recover those depressive, sad, melancholic and oppressive feelings of the early Doom Metal bands".
"I´m going to play guitars, bass and keyboards on the record, the drums will be play by a session musician called Carlos (BLIND PANIC) and for the voice I will to count with my old friend Dave Rotten of AVULSED, with your deep and stronger voice will give a radical upset to the concept that until now had of GOLGOTHA. I can assure that nobody will be disappointed with the new songs, in fact I feel more inspired and motivated than ever, which will to point out in the new album".
"At the moment there is no concrete date for recording, but if everything will be all right we finished on May 2005 and for that moment the band will look for a label to release this album.
