Lunaris
Data dodania 2004-02-21Dodał TomashFollowing the release, in 2002, of Norway's innovative black metal act Lunaris' debut album "… The Infinite", Elitist Records are pleased to announce the release the band's second album "Cyclic" on 22nd March 2004.
With "Cyclic", Lunaris are continuing the current trend of experimentation and technicality which is being seen in the new wave of intellectual black metal coming out of Norway, from bands such as Ulver, Arcturus and Borknagar, but adding a progressive edge to the Lunaris sound, while at the same time absorbing the death metal influences of acts such as Gehenna and Zyklon.
With Lunaris developing and honing their musicianship, they have brought new elements to "Cyclic" previously not seen on " … The Infinite", including intricate new guitar & keyboard sounds, and the inclusion of legendary bassist Steve Digiorgio (Testament, Death & Sadus) on "I.A.D" who, as a fan of Lunaris was happy to add his distinctive style to the track. In December 2003 Lunaris made their live debut in Norway with new members – guitarist HP (Fantasma) and bassist Dr. Dream (Trelldom).
The band say that 'Space & time, religion and the insignificance of the human race are again the main topics they exploit on "Cyclic"'. The songs themselves relate to their fascination with all aspects of science, astronomy, war and religion, question "man's inability to take a rational approach to the terms of religion and aim to explore the metaphysical concepts of existence itself".
Mainman's M's gift as a song writer and lyricist fused with extremely competent musicianship makes Lunaris a special experience where individuality is key but where each members personal ability adds a touch of class and uniqueness that goes some way to explaining the bands obsession with the complexities of the universe.
