Halo Creation is a brand new death metal outfit from Vienna, Austria that formed in 2013. Focal point of the band is former Exanimalis frontwoman Eva Oswald. She combines the guttural bark of Rachel Heyzer (ex-Occult, Sinister, Infinited Hate) with the serpentine femininity of Rafaella Rivarollo (ex-Opera IX). This digital four-track demo sounds mostly like Deicide (debut album) with thrash-inspired riffs/chord progressions and excellent soloing reminiscent of "Spiritual Healing" Death. In fact Halo Creation is decidedly traditional in its writing style. The band isn't overly technical, but more concerned with a good vocal hook, solo and/or crushing groove. Oswald is an obvious selling point as she's both feral and seductive in equal measure. The production is a mixed bag of positives and negatives. It's obviously very crispy sounding, but with booming thick low-end tones. The guitars sound very clear but they lack in bite, crunch and weight. The band is currently in pre-production for its full-length debut. "Demo 2014" isn't about reinvention or pushing boundaries. Instead its reliance on established conventions makes it more convincing than any number of those gimmicky "retro" death metal acts that continue to pop in alarming numbers. Halo Creation doesn't care about gimmicks, but just produces solid pure death metal with a traditional mindset.

Co za debiut! Jestem absolutnie zauroczony tym co zaserwowała ta norweska ekipa i absolutnie nie dziwię się, że Dark Descent nie zwlekała z kontraktem. Dotychczasowe doświadczenie muzyków Sover...
...co do saksofonu to był to przypadek całkowity. Bo idąc coś zjeść do miasta napotkaliśmy kolesia który na ulicy grał na saksofonie. Zagadałem do niego żeby nagrał nam jakieś partie i zgodził się. Oczywiście nie miał pojęcia na co się porwał, do tego komunikacja nie była najlepsza, bo okazał się być obywatelem Ukrainy i język polski nie był dobry albo w ogóle go nie było...
