As far as Polish death metal is concerned there is one great band on one should afford to omit. Unfortunately Trauma is also the group having a permanent run of a bad luck. Why is that?, one might ask. Merely Hell knows! At times I just think that the ingeniousness and the complexity of their technical death metal is simply incomprehensible to the present-day people. It really seems to be a vary hard nut to crack. On the other hand the splendid music Trauma creates has never been aimed at flattering anybody but rather something like a labour of love. The third album of Trauma (enclosing MCD entitled “Daimonion”) left nothing to add. Such tracks like “Unable To React”, “Words Of Hate” ( a bit contemporary approach with Fear Factory-like beginning, but still very intense) or the title one impose on me in every respect. The accuracy, the proficiency and eventually the manual dexterity cast in one awesome craft! Maybe I’m not too smart but blood covers me every time when I come to terms that western majors don’t give a fuck what fine arts are boiling in the East. Alright, I won’t dwell on the topic any further for it’s rather senseless. We, the Polish, know the mightiness of theirs. On the contrary, I’m at a loss what to think of the miserable native to us derivatives of Vader which instantly focusing attention of foreign labels coming out of nowhere. Although everyone of you, my dear sworn in death friends, realized a long time ago that simplicity of from is not anything Trauma is attributed to. Mister and the rest of the staff are undoubtedly ones of the best Polish technicians ever begot in the slaughter-house of madness. Brain-hacking riffs combined with a levity of execution, pounding battery amplified by gurgling bass and finally harsh growling spreading the message of the uncommon quartet. Today and as always Trauma presents untypical death metal not hard to swallow, but only by faithful and open-minded admirers of the most brutal limb among the metallic genres. And let it be like that forevermore.
