On their second record for California death metal label Unique Leader Records these Italian death metallers complete the evolution started on "Pageantry For Martyrs" and finetuned with 2008's "The Vile Conception". From the onset it is clear that "Paradogma" is more than just a rehashing of what worked on the preceding album, after the symphonic intro the title track kicks in and Hour Of Penance has seldom sounded so vigorous, ravenous and hungry. Drummer Mauro Mercurio delivers his finest work here and while the near-constant blasting of "The Vile Conception" is fortunately avoided his rhythms, fills, rolls and cymbal work are amongst the most creative to date. Taking a more prominent place as well are the harmonies and leads/solos by sole guitarist and principal songwriter Giulio Moschini. Not only is "Paradogma" slightly more melodic, it is also more varied in its speed and blasting. Once again recorded at 16th Cellar Studio in Rome, Italy with resident producer Stefan Saul Morabito and mastered by Wojtek Wieslawski at Hertz Studio in Poland "Paradogma" is the most pristine sounding Hour Of Penance record so far. The artwork by Gyula Havancsak (Annihilator, Demonoid, Destruction) is a step up for the Pär Oloffson rendering of the last album. By all means Hour Of Penance have exceeded expectations with "Paradogma".

...co do saksofonu to był to przypadek całkowity. Bo idąc coś zjeść do miasta napotkaliśmy kolesia który na ulicy grał na saksofonie. Zagadałem do niego żeby nagrał nam jakieś partie i zgodził się. Oczywiście nie miał pojęcia na co się porwał, do tego komunikacja nie była najlepsza, bo okazał się być obywatelem Ukrainy i język polski nie był dobry albo w ogóle go nie było...
