With its lengthy touring cycle in support of the band’s 2004 comeback record “Souls to Deny” Suffocation have now released their second live album (their first being 1994’s “Live Death” with Paradise Lost) of their career. With 15 tracks you’re more than getting your money’s worth. The sound is nicely thick, full with all the necessary space for every instrument. Suffocation blast relentlessly through their well-known classics in a frantic litany that encompasses everything from their impressive backcatalogue, going as far back in time as their legendary 1991 “Human Waste” EP. Frank Mullen is an experienced frontman, as his heavily NY accented in-between banter is incredibly fun and candid. Guitarist combo Terrance Hobbs and Guy Marchais are mixed up front and incredibly clear, every single detail of the band’s signature leads remains audible. Drummer Mike Smith provides the basis for each track and bassist Derek Boyer (ex-Decrepit Birth/ex-Deprecated) is nicely present as well. Suffocation is a cement tight unit, as a result of past experiences and the current touring jaunt. The album went through additional mastering at Full Force Studio by Joe Cincotta (Catastrophic) to get the best possible result from these unedited soundboard recordings. The artwork is obviously based upon the “Souls to Deny” album for which Suffocation was touring at the time. This is definitely a nice treat to the fans of this particular band. Pick it up now, while supplies last, as this is a limited release. Supposedly, an official Suffocation DVD is also in the works.

...co do saksofonu to był to przypadek całkowity. Bo idąc coś zjeść do miasta napotkaliśmy kolesia który na ulicy grał na saksofonie. Zagadałem do niego żeby nagrał nam jakieś partie i zgodził się. Oczywiście nie miał pojęcia na co się porwał, do tego komunikacja nie była najlepsza, bo okazał się być obywatelem Ukrainy i język polski nie był dobry albo w ogóle go nie było...
