close x Least Worst Option is the new and independently operated media review project of long-time Masterful Magazine scribe Wouter Roemers. He will remain with us, while doing his own project. The goal is to cover metal records, both old and new, in greater length and detail on comparison to the more compact reviews people have come to expect here. Least Worst Option will cover mostly metal records, but will occasionally venture into pop territory to keep things interesting, coverage of old and new video games is something to be found there as well. Check out all of this and more at www.leastworstoption.com .

Flemming Gabin, Masterful Magazine’s resident misanthrope and regular drunken and angry reviewer, has his own dedicated blog at www.flemminggabin.wordpress.com - where he publishes his own often incoherent and incomplete thoughts on various extreme metal albums. Flemming is somewhat of a recluse, so we have not included his postal address on this site. You can sent your promos to the known addresses, and we’ll pass them on to Flemming for his usual, insultive and confrontational coverage. In due course, some of the Flemming’s reviews will also be translated into Polish, due to popular demand.

Least Worst Option and Flemming Gabin are on FaceBook too! So "like" them, share them and remember to visit them regularly.

Calvaiire

"Forceps"
Odin knows that Mastodon is a really fucken stupid hipster band that needs to die. Calvaiire are from France, and are fucken angry for some reason. Fuck knows I like me some fucken hardcore every once in a while. "Forceps" lives up to its fucken title. It feels like a well-placed fucken right hook, and a kick to the fucken groin. Holy crap, dudes. Does this band sound pissed off and angr...

Descend

"Wither"
Descend are from Stockholm, but actually sound like a 90s Gothenburg band. To be fucken honest, I thought this band was German going by their sound cos this sounds a lot like Fragments Of Unbecoming, or Golem. You know, fucken kraut metal bands trying to sound Swedish. Anyway, this is the first Swedish band on Inverse Records to my fucken experience and it is actually is… good. Who the fuck knew...

Death Tyrant

Wouter Roemers
I had some material done already before the demise of Lord Belial. Some of the material was actually intended for the next Lord Belial album, but since we disbanded I changed around all of the ideas into new songs.

  • Paradise Lost will release "Draconian Times MMXI" DVD on November

    2011-08-29

On 7th November 2011 Paradise Lost and Century Media Records will release their new "Draconian Times MMXI" DVD. In early 2011 the band performed their monumental album Draconian Times (from 1995) live at a series of 7 exclusive gigs in the following select cities around Europe: Tilburg, Bochum, London, Paris, Athens, and Thessaloniki.

Nick Holmes (vocals) had this to say: "It was great fun doing the Draconian Times live shows and the response outshined our expectations by far, all the shows were great, but the London show was a real highlight & thankfully captured on film. Jens Bogren has mixed the songs brilliantly, the extras are fun, and the whole thing has come together tremendously well. We are lucky to have such devoted fans, prepared to travel all over the world to see our shows. This DVD is dedicated to them, and I hope they thoroughly enjoy it!"

"Draconian Times MMXI" features the London show at The Forum from April 1st, a documentary from the whole tour filmed by bass player Steve Edmondson, interviews about the history of "Draconian Times" with Simon Efemey (producer of Draconian Times, 1995), Nick Holmes (vocals), Greg Mackintosh (guitar), Aaron Aedy (guitar), Steve Edmondson (bass) and Andy Farrow (manager since 1990) and the two promo videos from "Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us".

Pre-order the limited edition Double DVD plus Live CD on www.cmdistro.com until September 5th, 2011, leave your memories (no more than 30 words), and your words and name will appear in the final credits of the DVD.
