Death metal is such a limitless genre. You can do whatever you'd like. It can be over the top technical or slow. Brutal or insane and it's all so good. When we made "Visions of Death" it just came out with a natural old school-ish vibe and that's great, but our newer material has a much more modern technical vibe. I love how death metal has evolved.
German thrashers DEW-SCENTED have set "Invocation" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in May in Europe via Metal Blade Records. The band entered Soundlodge Studios in Northern Germany this past Monday (February 1) with producer Jörg Uken (GOD DETHRONED, SINISTER) to begin recording the CD. The cover artwork is being created by Björn Goosses of Killustrations.com.
Commented the group: "After some last preparations in our rehearsal room this past weekend, we started tracking drums at Soundlodge Studios with Jörg Uken on Monday. It's fucking freezing outside, but in terms of drumming things are going great so far and Marc-Andrée is on fire! The material for this new album is INTENSE and the drumming pretty demanding, so it's gonna be fun working some more on this one…"
