Consisting of members from Luciferion, Forest Of Impaled and Malevolent Creation this Swedish-Polish-American band is hardly lacking in experience and more than a sum of its part. Led by guitar wizard Wojtek Lisicki (Luciferion, ex-Lost Horizon) Against the Plagues is, musically, a continuation of the direction started on Luciferion's second semi-conceptual album "The Apostate". Like tha...
From the ever fertile soil of France comes this black metal act, which was originally formed under the name Empires de Glace. After a stereotypical synthesizer intro with samples of howling winds and thunderstorms and moody spoken monk vocals give way to a rather traditional Scandinavian interpretation of the genre. The music is mostly inspired by the likes of Dark Funeral and Marduk with sweeping...
Death metal is such a limitless genre. You can do whatever you'd like. It can be over the top technical or slow. Brutal or insane and it's all so good. When we made "Visions of Death" it just came out with a natural old school-ish vibe and that's great, but our newer material has a much more modern technical vibe. I love how death metal has evolved.
Britain's BENEDICTION has issued the following update:
"Well, we start gigging again soon but there will be a slight change in line up for this year's dates. Neil Hutton will not be drumming with us this year (except for the Saturday, May 1st show in London with BOLT THROWER where he will be behind the kit) as personal reasons dictate that he is unable to do so. So as usual we have dragged in our good friend Nicholas Barker (CRADLE OF FILTH, DIMMU BORGIR, LOCK UP) to smash the kit up behind us. Nick has been a close friend for years and has shared the stage with us on numerous occasions over the last decade. Nicholas will be banned from doing blastbeats with us though! So turn up and enjoy the shows this year."
BENEDICTION's latest album, "Killing Music", was released in North America in September 2008 via Locomotive Records. The follow-up to 2001's "Organized Chaos" was produced by ANAAL NATHRAKH mastermind Mick Kenney and features several guest musicians, including Karl Willets (BOLT THROWER), Kelly Shaefer (ATHEIST), Billy Gould (ex-FAITH NO MORE), The Fog (FROST), Markus Staiger (Nuclear Blast Records owner) and Thorsten Zahn from Metal Hammer Germany. A limited-edition version of the album includes two bonus tracks and a DVD.
